The Juvet family originated from Buites in the Principality of Neuchatel, which joined the Swiss Confederation in 1848. They were mostly Elders of the Church or Captains in the Prussian Army. I do not know why we called my maternal grandmother Bonne Maman but we always did. Alice Henry, daughter of Marc Henry and Alice Meylan was born on the 14th September 1859 probably at 4 Boulevarde James Fazy, Geneva. Lucy Juvet 1882-1978
Lucy was born in Geneva on the 4th September 1882. She and her sister Evelyn were educated in the local state schools and were strictly brought up.They often stayed at her maternal grandparents' villa 'Campagne Henry' at Versoix on the shores of Lac Leman. Her father Alphonse used to take his daughters sailing on the lake. One day Lucy discovered a heart with an arrow through it and the initials LEH/ALH on a wall near the Jardin des Bastions.
